Privacy Policy

What happens to your text, your preferences and your visit.

Last updated: 2026-07-24

Site owner: this policy describes how the site is built, but it is not legal advice and it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before launch, confirm the sections marked [review] match the services you actually enable, add your legal entity name and jurisdiction, and check the requirements that apply to your audience (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and others).

The short version

The text you type into a tool on TextTidyTools is processed inside your browser. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no copy of it.

Text you enter into the tools

Every counter, converter and generator on this site runs as JavaScript in your browser tab. When you type or paste text, the calculation happens on your device and the result is written back into the page. There is no server-side processing step and no upload request. We cannot read your text, and we could not retrieve it later even if we were asked to.

Two consequences follow. First, closing or reloading the tab discards your text unless you have turned on the optional autosave switch described below. Second, no analytics or advertising script on the page receives the contents of any input box.

Local storage on your device

The site uses your browser's local storage for a small number of preferences:

  • Your light or dark theme choice.
  • The option settings of individual tools, so a tool opens the way you last left it.
  • Your list of recently used and favorited tools.
  • The text of a tool, only when you explicitly turn on "Remember this text on this device" for that tool.

Local storage stays on your device. It is not synchronized to us. You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings, and the autosaved text for a tool is deleted the moment you switch that tool's autosave off.

Cookies

The site itself does not set cookies for its own features — preferences use local storage instead. Google Analytics sets cookies (_ga and _ga_<container>) to tell repeat visits apart, but only after you accept on the banner. They expire after two years and hold a randomly generated identifier, not your name or your text. [review: add any advertising cookies to this list when you turn ads on.]

Analytics

We ask on your first visit whether we may count visits with Google Analytics 4, and we honour the answer. Until you accept, the analytics script is never downloaded: no request reaches Google and no cookie is set. Declining, or ignoring the banner entirely, leaves the site request-free.

If you do accept, Google Analytics records page addresses, referring pages, approximate location derived from your IP address, and general device and browser information. It never records the contents of a tool's input box — that content never leaves your browser, and the analytics snippet is given nothing but the page address.

Your choice is stored on your device and you can change it whenever you like. Withdrawing consent deletes the analytics cookies and reloads the page so the script stops running:

You can also opt out for every site by installing Google's official browser add-on, or block googletagmanager.com with any content blocker. The tools work the same either way. [review: confirm this matches your Google Analytics data-retention and data-sharing settings.]

Advertising

This site is supported by advertising. Ad networks, including Google AdSense if enabled, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may personalize them based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in its own policies, and you can adjust personalization at Google's Ads Settings. Ad slots are always labeled and are placed around the tool, never inside its controls. [review: confirm this section before turning ads on, and add any additional networks you use.]

Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. Like all web hosts, Cloudflare processes standard request information — IP address, timestamp, requested file, user agent — to deliver pages and protect against abuse, and its own privacy documentation describes what it retains. This happens for every request, before any script on the page runs, and it is separate from the tools themselves: it never includes your text.

Third-party services

Everything the tools themselves need comes from this site: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and SVG icons. There are no external fonts, no third-party script libraries and no embedded widgets in the tool code. The one external component today is the Google Analytics tag in the page header, and if advertising is enabled the ad network's script is a second; both load outside the tool's processing path and neither is given anything you type.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data through the tools, there is normally nothing for us to export or delete on request. Where a third-party analytics or advertising provider has processed data about your visit, your rights are exercised through that provider, and their policies explain how. If you believe we hold information about you, contact us at ktgseo14@gmail.com and we will respond. [review: describe the rights that apply to your audience, including access, deletion, objection and opt-out of sale or sharing.]

Children

This site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service on this site, contact us and we will help you take it up with the provider.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because your text is never transmitted, the usual risk of interception in transit does not apply to it. Text saved with the optional autosave switch is stored unencrypted in your browser's local storage, so avoid using that switch on a shared or public computer.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — for example, because a new third-party service is added — the date at the top of the page will be updated. Material changes will be described in the section they affect rather than buried in a summary.
